Hover App

Another great app to use as a drone pilot is the Hover app.
The app is very clean, and the information is simple to understand.
When you open the app for the first time a splash screen appears, and that’s the only time.
After that is loads directly to the data you need.

When you tap the weather tab you will have a nice and clean overview of the current weather conditions at your location. Of course this is not necessarily the real current weather, this can best be checked by going outside.
But from what I have tested it is pretty accurate

If there is a caution displayed you can tap the caution and it will show you why there is a caution.
In this case it is because of the weather (chances of rain and cold)

The map shows you all no fly zones around you.
Unfortunately this is not very accurate for me, the map is not good.
I have compared the maps, the first one is from the app, the second are the official no fly zones in Holland.
I would suggest to check this before you use the app to fly.

This is the data from the app

This is the official data in Holland

There is also a section that shows the latest in drone related news.
Not sure why that function is there, in my opinion it doesn’t add anything extra.

There are a lot of apps that you can use when you plan to fly your drone, this one is also one I would recommend.
The app is available for iOS and Android.

The app programmer writes:
